Get Down to Where the Big Fish Live
Tired of your nymphs drifting over the fish's head? The Rivfly Tungsten Beadhead Stonefly Nymph is engineered for one primary purpose: to get deep, fast. When trout are hugging the bottom of a river, you need an anchor fly that can cut through the current and present a meal they can't refuse. This is that fly.
Why It Works:
- The Tungsten Advantage: At the heart of this fly is a high-density tungsten bead. Tungsten is significantly heavier than brass, allowing for a smaller profile and a much faster sink rate. This means you can reach the riverbed in swift currents where monster trout often hold.
- An Uncanny Imitation: We designed this pattern to be a hyper-realistic imitation of a natural stonefly nymph, a primary food source for trout year-round. The segmented abdomen, dual feather tails, and buggy legs create a silhouette and movement that fish find irresistible.
- Triggering the Strike: The body is dubbed with a special blend of natural and synthetic fibers that create a "buggy" texture and a subtle, life-like flash. Wrapped with a fine copper wire for segmentation and durability, it adds just enough glint to catch a trout's eye as it tumbles along the bottom.
How to Fish It:
This fly is a must-have for any Euro Nymphing setup, where its weight is critical for maintaining contact with your flies. It also excels as the heavy point fly in a standard indicator rig, helping to pull your smaller dropper flies down. Dead-drift it through deep runs, seams, and boulder-strewn pockets. Let it tumble and tick along the bottom—and be ready for an aggressive take.
