Dominate Deep Pools and Low Light Conditions
Success in Euro Nymphing often comes down to two factors: depth and visibility. Our Neon Tag Tungsten Jig Nymphs (Glow) are engineered to solve both. Designed for the technical angler, these flies feature heavy tungsten beads to punch through fast currents and reach the bottom where big trout hold.
The game-changer is the UV-reactive and glow-in-the-dark coating on the beads. Whether you are fishing the “golden hour” at dusk, early dawn patrols, or stained runoff water, these flies maintain a glowing silhouette that fish can track.
Why “Jig” Style Matters (Engineering & Durability)
Stop losing flies to the riverbed. These nymphs are tied on 60-degree barbless jig hooks. The physics are simple: the heavy tungsten bead forces the fly to flip upside down, meaning the hook point rides up. This engineering choice allows you to tick the bottom rocks without snagging, keeping your fly in the water and out of the trees.
Match the Hatch & Tactics
- Seasonality: Excellent year-round, but deadly in Winter and Spring runoff when water is off-color.
- Target Species: Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Grayling, and Panfish.
- Presentation: Use as your “Point Fly” (bottom fly) in a Euro/Czech nymphing rig to anchor your drift.
Common Questions
Q: How do I charge the glow bead?
A: A few seconds under a UV torch or headlamp will supercharge the bead for minutes of high-vis fishing.
Q: Are these hooks strong enough for big fish?
A: Yes. We use high-carbon chemically sharpened steel wire. The jig shape is inherently strong and holds fish securely even without a barb.
Q: Should I get Orange or Chartreuse?
A: It varies by river. Generally, Chartreuse works best in colder/clearer water, while Orange excels in stained water. We recommend the 12-Piece Assortment to have both options on the river.

2 reviews for Glow Neon Tag Tungsten Jig Nymph
Good euro nymph, solid tungsten bead, the tag color holds up after multiple sessions. My only gripe is I want more tag color options — orange and red are great but a chartreuse option would be killer on certain waters. What’s available works though.
Dude. These things FISH. I was euro nymphing a run I know well and wasn’t touching fish with my usual patterns. Switched to the glow tag version and immediately got into fish. Sometimes the fish just want that little hot spot and this delivers it perfectly.
