- Description
Tired of losing your dry fly in the glare? Frustrated with flies that sink after just a few casts?
Meet your new secret weapons for summer and fall fly fishing: the RIVFLY Hi-Vis Foam Terrestrial Pack. This set includes two of the most effective patterns when fish are looking up for land-based meals: the classic Foam Ant and the irresistible Foam Beetle.
Why They Work
Crafted from high-density, closed-cell foam, these flies are virtually unsinkable. They ride high on the water's surface, perfectly imitating a struggling ant or beetle that's been blown into the river. The magic is in the bright orange Hi-Vis indicator on top. It acts like a tiny strike indicator, allowing you to follow your fly's drift flawlessly, even from a distance or in tricky lighting. You'll see the take before you feel it.
The lifelike rubber legs create subtle, enticing movements in the current, triggering aggressive strikes from even the wariest trout.
How to Fish Them
These flies are incredibly versatile.
- Dead-Drift: Cast them near riverbanks, under overhanging trees, or along grassy edges where terrestrials naturally fall in. Let the current do the work.
- Twitch it: Give your line a slight twitch occasionally to imitate a struggling insect. This can be deadly.
- Dry-Dropper Rig: Use the foam ant or beetle as your top fly and trail a small nymph (like a Pheasant Tail or Hare's Ear) 18-24 inches below it. The foam fly acts as both an attractor and a perfect strike indicator for the nymph.
Stop guessing and start seeing. Add the Hi-Vis Foam Terrestrial Pack to your box and make your next day on the water more productive and enjoyable.
