The Glow Squirmy Wormy is the modern evolution of the classic San Juan Worm. While the old style relies on color, this silicone version relies on movement. The soft tentacles vibrate and twist with the slightest water movement, mimicking a drowning earthworm perfectly.
What it imitates
It imitates Aquatic Worms (Annelids) or terrestrial Earthworms washed into the stream. It represents a high-protein, easy meal.
Why it works this season
High & Dirty Water: When rivers rise due to rain or snowmelt, worms get dislodged from the banks. Trout expect to see them. The Glow feature makes this fly visible even in chocolate-milk colored water.
When to use it
- Tailwaters: Especially after a heavy rain.
- Stocked Creeks: Stocked trout absolutely love these.
- Off-Color Water: Anytime visibility is less than 2 feet.
How to rig it
