The Rivfly Hybrid Stream Master is designed to unlock the most effective technique in small stream fishing: The Dry-Dropper Rig.
The "Bus Driver & The Passenger" Concept:
We designed this kit based on a tactical partnership between two specific flies:
1. The Bus Driver: Elk Hair Caddis (#12)
- The Role: The Surface Indicator.
- Why it works: We selected a large #12 hook with premium, high-float Elk Hair. It acts as a natural "bobber." It’s big enough to tempt trophy trout to the surface, but buoyant enough to hold up the weight of the sinking fly below without sinking itself.
2. The Passenger: Wire Body Sakasa Kebari (#14)
- The Role: The Sub-Surface Assassin.
- Why it works: Unlike standard wet flies, this Kebari is tied with a Wire Body. It sinks fast. The "Sakasa" (reverse) hackle comes alive in the water, pulsing open and closed like a struggling insect. It hangs below the dry fly, right in the fish's face.
How to Rig for Success (The Duo Method):
- Top: Tie the Elk Hair Caddis to your main leader/tippet.
- Connection: Tie a 20-30cm (8-12 inch) piece of tippet to the bend of the Caddis hook.
- Bottom: Tie the Wire Body Kebari to the end of that tippet.
- The Drift: Cast upstream. Watch the Caddis. If it dips, twitches, or stops—SET THE HOOK! You likely caught a fish on the Kebari.
