SKU:WF-SK-918-12-6P
Key Features
- WEIGHTED WIRE BODY: The solid metal wire wrapping allows this fly to cut through the surface film instantly and sink to the feeding zone without extra split shots.
- INDESTRUCTIBLE DURABILITY: Unlike thread-bodied flies that get shredded by trout teeth, the wire armor makes this fly virtually bombproof.
- PULSING "SAKASA" ACTION: The signature reverse hackle opens and closes in the current, creating a lifelike "heartbeat" movement that triggers predatory instincts.
- TRI-COLOR SELECTION: Comes in Red (Aggractor), Green (Caddis/Attractor), and Gold (General Purpose) to cover all water clarities and light conditions.
- REALISTIC SEGMENTATION: The wire wrapping creates a ribbed texture that perfectly mimics the segmented bodies of aquatic insect larvae.

- Description
Overview:
The Rivfly Wire Body Sakasa Kebari is a modern evolution of the traditional Japanese Tenkara fly. By replacing the traditional thread body with metal wire, we've created a fly that sinks faster, lasts longer, and catches more fish.
The "Wire" Advantage:
- Get Down Fast: In fast mountain streams, lightweight flies often drift over the fish's head. The wire weight gets this fly down into the "strike zone" immediately.
- Flash & Trigger: The metallic finish reflects light underwater, acting as a beacon in stained or dark water.
Color Guide & Usage (3 Colors):
-
🔴 Red Wire (The "Blood Worm"):
- Best for: Cold water or high-pressure days.
- Why: Mimics aquatic worms or midge larvae. Red is a known trigger color that makes lethargic fish strike out of aggression.
-
🟢 Green/Chartreuse Wire (The "Caddis"):
- Best for: Murky water or evening fishing.
- Why: Represents the bright green bodies of Caddis larvae (Rock Worms), a staple food source for trout.
-
🟡 Gold Wire (The "Generalist"):
- Best for: Sunny days and clear water.
- Why: The classic attractor. It adds just the right amount of flash to catch a cruising trout's eye from a distance.
How to Fish It:

Designed for Tenkara rods but deadly on any setup. Cast upstream, let it sink, and use a rhythmic "twitch-pause" retrieve to make the hackle dance.
